Shrewd and calculating, Kyoya is called the "Shadow King" due to the fact he controls it from at the rear of the scenes, permitting Tamaki to serve as its figurehead and best draw. He and Tamaki, even though seemingly different in character, are literally fantastic friends. He is the "Mommy" from the Host Club although Tamaki would be the "Daddy."
